My husband and I, along with two other couples, decided to dine at the Crab Catcher during our stay in La Jolla. We were greatly disappointed with every aspect of the dining experience. The food was mediocre at best, and the service mirrored that of a bad fast food establishment. The service did not improve even after the bus boy spilled a pitcher of water across the table and onto one of us. One dinner did not resemble the description, and the waitress was rude when we asked about the discrepancy. This place advertises an exceptional view, but even with reservations, our view was minimal. At night, there aren't even any outside lights. The price in relation to food quality was extremely disappointing. The restaurant does not even permit guests to have separate checks. We often travel to La Jolla in the summer; this was definitely our first and only visit to the Crab Catcher. Save your time and money and go to the Fish Market instead. You'll enjoy the atmosphere and the food, and you won't feel insulted by the server during your meal. |
