Best hamburgers I've ever eaten, and with real "potato" french fries too. Filet mignon very good as well. Love the hot fresh sourdough bread. Atmosphere is rustic, feels like stepping back in time. Service is good most of the time. Reservations required, since dining rooms are small. Fireplace makes nice ambience. Entertainment is always refreshing too. |

The staff is exceptional at the Buckhorn and they make the trip worthwhile.
They serve the best hamburgers I've ever eaten. Absolutely fabulous. And their french fries are REAL, not frozen ones. What a find!
In the dining room, everything we've ever eaten there is fantastic. We usually save the dining room for company, as we don't want to burn out on it. (It would be real easy to not eat anywhere else.)
Prices are no higher than for a like place in a big city and I think that is remarkable, given the remoteness.
The only complaints we have are the miserable chairs in the bar and those UGLY statues. |

This is the best Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Grant County. It is pricey. My wife and I enjoy the Lobster Tail dinner which is priced at Market. (in May 2004 it was $35/plate). The steaks runs in the teens are a worth every penny. We haven't had a bad meal there yet. Casual attire is OK but they do have cloth tablecloths so it's not just a family steak house. It is located in a restored 1800's saloon. They have old photos of Silver City on the walls and are connected to the Opera House next door. (The melodramas in the Opera House next door are often bawdy and not appropriate for children)
I know of people who come to the Buckhorn from Tucson ,AZ (200 miles away) for dinner on the weekends. It's that good. |
