My wife and I have eaten at this particular Capt. D's many times. The food is always the same great quality we expect.
I don't know why, maybe it's because this restaurant is on a main drag in Bayton and is next to the Super wal-mart, but there seems to be some unpleasant customers that come in to eat from time to time.
Some customers either can't read or just like to hassle the workers. They want substitutions that amount to free food, they change their mind about what they want after the food is delivered, they want to go through every item on the menu, ask lots of questions about what is clearly displayed, and argue about having to pay for what they ordered.
The staff here is always friendly and try to be helpful even though some customers seem to be just spoiling for a fight. I am amazed at the patience of the workers here. I would have lost my Christian attitude with several of the customers, but the staff just keeps on smiling.
No, I don't work there or for Capt. D's, nor do I know anyone who works there.
I reccommend the food and advise you to sit where you can watch the front counter because it's better than TV.
OK, well maybe it's not as bad as it sounds, so don't skip this place because of what I said. This is good fast food that's better than a burger at a fair price in a place that's clean and neat with friendly staff. Some folks just need to check their attitude at the door. |

MY MOTHER & I HAVE ONLY BEEN TO YOUR RESTAURANT TWICE, TODAY BEING THE 2ND TIME. THE FISH WAS SO GOOD THE 1ST TIME, WE WERE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO GOING BACK TODAY. OUR EXPERIENCE WAS NOT PLEASANT, TO SAY THE LEAST. OH, THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE THAT HAPPENED. I ORDERED THE 3PC. FISH DINNER. MY ORDER # WAS 24. WHEN THEY CALLED #24, I COULD SEE IT ONLY HAD 2 PIECES OF FISH ON THE PLATE. I TOLD THE GIRL I ORDERED A 3PC., SHE SAID IT WAS A 3 PC., SO I SAID OK, THINKING THE OTHER PIECE WAS UNDER THE TOP 2. WELL, AFTER I GOT ALL SITUATED, I DISCOVERED THERE WAS ONLY 2 PIECES. SO I WENT BACK UP TO THE COUNTER & THE OTHER GIRL WAITED ON ME. I TOLD HER I ORDERED & PAID FOR A 3 PIECE FISH DINNER BUT ONLY GOT 2. I TOLD HER I TOLD THE OTHER GIRL THAT, WHEN I PICKED IT UP, BUT THE OTHER GIRL SAID THERE WERE 3 PIECES THERE. ANYWAY, THE 1ST GIRL WHISPERED SOMETHING TO THE OTHER GIRL. THEY GAVE ME THE OTHER PIECE OF FISH BUT THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE I LIED. ALL DURING THE TIME WE WERE EATING THEY STARED AT US. BEFORE WE LEFT MY MOTHER & I WALKED UP TO THE COUNTER TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT HOW THEY MADE US FEEL, LIKE WE LIED & STOLE A PICE OF FISH. SHE SAID SHE COUNTED THEM & THAT THERE WAS 3 PCS. OF FISH ON THE PLATE. I TOLD HER THAT THERE WAS NOT & THAT I HAD SAID SOMETHING ABOUT IT WHEN I PICKED UP MY ORDER. THEN SHE SAID THE OTHER GIRL ALSO COUNTED THEM & THAT THERE WERE 3 PCS. OF FISH. THE OTHER GIRL WAS WAITING ON SOMEBODY ELSE AT THAT TIME, SHE COULDN'T HAVE COUNTED THE PCS. OF FISH. THEY WANTED TO ARGUE ABOUT IT & WIN THE ARGUMENT. THAT IS CALLING US LIARS. NOW MY MOTHER IS 86 YRS. OLD, RETIRED FROM A BANK, AND I AM 59 YRS. OLD, RETIRED FROM THE ACCOUNTING PROFESSION. I CAN ASSURE YOU WE DID NOT LIE & WOULD NOT DO SUCH A THING . THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE HAS UPSETTING & LEFT ME ANGRY & VERY HUMILIATED & I'LL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. |
